MVIHES website design required a modern WordPress solution that clearly communicates community health initiatives, improves access to resources, and supports organizational growth across Vancouver Island.
Based on Vancouver Island, the Mid-Vancouver Island Health & Economic Society (MVIHES) supports community well-being, economic development, and collaborative partnerships serving residents, organizations, and stakeholders throughout the region. As the organization’s initiatives expanded, its existing website no longer reflected the breadth of services, partnerships, and resources available, making information difficult for visitors to navigate and understand.
The website redesign focused on creating a clear, accessible, and scalable digital platform that aligns with MVIHES’ mission while supporting long-term growth. Content was restructured to improve information hierarchy and ensure visitors can quickly understand the organization’s purpose, access reports and resources, and stay informed about ongoing initiatives.
Special attention was given to navigation, accessibility, and responsive behavior, allowing diverse audiences to move seamlessly between programs, partnerships, and community information. The final WordPress platform empowers internal teams to manage updates efficiently while maintaining a cohesive, professional, and future-ready digital presence.

The Brief
The goal was to create a responsive, user-friendly WordPress website that clearly communicates MVIHES’ mission while supporting a wide range of audiences across Vancouver Island. The existing site no longer reflected the organization’s scope, making it difficult for visitors to quickly understand available services, partnerships, and resources.
A key priority was improving information architecture so content could be accessed intuitively by both first-time visitors and returning users. The website also needed to support long-term growth, allowing internal teams to publish updates, reports, and announcements without technical barriers.
